Organic Lemon Essential Oil

Lemons come from a small evergreen tree that grows up to 5 meters high and produces white flowers surrounded by pink. The lemon tree is originally from Asia but now grows in the Mediterranean region too. It is cultivated in Italy, Cypress, Israel, and California, where most of the oil is made. It takes 3,000 lemon rinds to produce 1 kg of essential oil by cold pressing.

Educators have long known that recreating the exam environment can be helpful for memory. However, it's hard to do unless you take the exam at home. The smell of essential oils, like lemon, can trigger memories and aid in retention. Some studies suggest that using lemon oil while studying and writing exams improves memory. Other studies show that peppermint and rosemary oils can enhance memory.

The name "lemon" comes from the Arabic word laimun or the Persian word limun. Crusaders brought the lemon tree to Europe during the Middle Ages. Lemons are rich in vitamins A, B, and C. Sailors in the Royal Navy were given an ounce of lemon daily to prevent scurvy and vitamin deficiencies.

Greeks and Romans in the Middle Ages praised the therapeutic properties of lemons.

Freshen up the air by diffusing this Essential Oil. For a natural and effective cleaning solution, mix with water or add to your usual cleaning products. Easily remove oil, gum, adhesives, and crayon stains with just 1-2 drops on most surfaces.

Diffusion: Add 3-4 drops to a diffuser or essential oil burner.
Dilution ratio: 1-2% (6-12 drops per 20mL) in a base oil.

BODY
Body rub: Add 2 drops to 1 tbsp jojoba oil for a brisk all-over body rub that strengthens the immune response when you’re feeling run down.
Compress: Add 2 drops to tepid water. Soak a face washer and apply to affected areas to improve circulation and treat varicose veins.

SKIN
Direct method: Add 1 drop to a cotton tip and apply directly to treat warts.

HOUSEHOLD
Cleaning: Disinfect a dishcloth by sprinkling a few drops of lemon oil on it after washing in soapy boiling water.

MEDITATION
Diffuse 2 drops each of lemon, grapefruit, cypress and mandarin, plus a drop of basil.

MIND/MOOD
Diffuse 2 drops of lemon and 4 drops of grapefruit to combat fatigue.

BODY
Massage: Add 2 drops each of lemon and sandalwood to 1 tsp sweet almond oil and apply to the shoulders and chest to ease mucous congestion.

Lemon essential oil may cause photosensitivity (low risk); We recommend a maximum 2% dilution. If applied to the skin at over the maximum dermal use of level of 2%, the skin should not be exposed to sunlight (UV rays) or sunbed rays for 12 hours (Source: Tisserand & Young, 2014).

In general, our lemon essential oil is safe for use with kids, while pregnant, nursing or around pets taking the above precaution.
